Should we vote ? Don't forget that Adobe have the ability to make surveys to know what users want. So, different users have different preferences about the dark mode. So, my experience with my ageeing eyesight is that 'dark mode' is a killer for the eyes and something which should be forbidden for color adjustments as a background (such as the very old PSE versions or PS) and a very poor choice for organizer or Bridge. ![]() My main usage is photo editing and usual Internet browsing. I mainly work on a desktop with standard size and resolution, with controlled display and room luminosity, rarely with a laptop. What I do believe is that 'dark modes' are not good for my own eyes. We can probably agree on the fact that Adobe do not want to spend too much programming efforts on that UI matter, but why they choose the 'lighter' themes is subject to debate. PSE2023 does not have a "dark mode" and you can see where Adobe is heading by introducing a lighter version in the last couple of versions. I think it's simply a feature request in very short sentence. I don't understand 's post as an information about the availability of a dark mode for PSE2023. ![]() There are reasons why the program is so cheap. I want the brush tools to be floating like they are in in photoshop- but it will probably never happen. It would seem like an easy thing to me to program. Part of this has to do with light levels: with a bright display (white background) the iris closes a bit more, decreasing the effect of the “deformed” lens with a dark display (black background) the iris opens to receive more light and the deformation of the lens creates a much fuzzier focus at the eye. People with astigmatism (approximately 50% of the population) find it harder to read white text on black than black text on white. This is the default view/ mode in photoshop, not photoshop elements. It doesn't cost anything and won't hurt your eyes to give dark mode a try. However, there's no conclusive date that proves dark mode works for anything besides extending the battery life of your device. ![]() Dark mode may work to decrease eye strain and dry eye for some people who spend a lot of time staring at screens.
